Attention! Before launching the setup package of the new version, you must turn off the MyChat Server.

 

All users data and servers settings are saved during the update. Updates are "cumulative". It means that you can update from any old version to the very new one, without intermediate versions installation.

 

  1. If the server launches as a normal desktop application (GUI mode),— open server interface and click "Exit" in the "Server" menu section:

  1. If the server launches as a system service,— stop it in the "Services" applet:

  1. Then follow the steps which are described in the server installation section. A backup copy of server databases is done automatically before the update process begins. Database copy are stored in the C:\ProgramData\MyChat Server\backup\ folder. ZIP file name is the date and time when the automatic backup was created.
     
  2. When the installation is complete, launch MyChat Server and it will update its database automatically. It takes for a while.
     
  3. Now you can move on to MyChat clients update.
