Error

Network error 11001: "Host not found"

Error description

The error occurs, if MyChat Client tries to connect to the server which address is written as DNS name, but the DNS service does not work or unavailable.

For example, in MyChat Client settings, the server address is specified as mychat-server.com (this is an Internet domain),  but there is not Internet access at the moment. Let's say, a router/WiFi is off on your laptop. Then, the request for resolving IP address by domain name can't be performed and the system returns this error.

This error can occur when the network speed is very low, and the DNS request can't be processed due to the long network delays.

Problem solutions

1. Check that you network equipment works correctly

WiFi adapters, routers, network hub, and other equipment between you and MyChat Server. There is a possibility that some device "froze" and does not respond. Restart it if necessary.

2. Check DNS servers work

Got to system settings, "Network & Internet settings", and choose your network adapter:

Windows network adapter info

Then press the button "Network connection details" and look on your DNS server IP address:

After this try to check connection with this DNS server with the help of the command ping.

Open the console. Menu "Start", "Run" (or Win+R), and run cmd

Launching Windows console (cmd.exe)

In the console window run the command ping <dns_server_ip>

If there is a connection but MyChat still shows the same error, it means that DNS server does not work or specified incorrectly.

If the command ping indicates that there is no connection with the server, it means, that your DNS server disable or unavailable.
